How to find an executive search firm in Denmark
Start with the role, the ownership context and the market in which candidates should be found. Executive search involves identifying and approaching candidates directly, including people who are not actively looking for a job. The term headhunter is broader and may also refer to specialists or middle-management recruitment.
Agree on the required experience, working language, location and decision-making responsibilities before comparing firms. A Danish office does not by itself establish a firm's reach across Denmark or the Nordic countries. Ask who will carry out the research and interviews in each relevant market.
Ten firms to investigate
This is a selection from the wider directory, presented alphabetically. It is not a ranking or a complete list of Danish recruitment firms. The descriptions reflect the firms' own published information. The original profiles use source material reviewed in September 2026; Boyden was added in the October expansion. Verify current services and contacts directly.

Copenhagen, Aarhus or a national search?
Keep three locations separate: the consultant's office, the role's workplace and the candidate market. Copenhagen and Aarhus both offer starting points for investigating recruitment firms. A consultant may need to search elsewhere in Denmark or internationally to find relevant candidates.
Clarify expectations for office attendance, relocation and travel. For international candidates, discuss the working language, the management context and the practical information they need to assess the opportunity. Ask the firm to define its responsibilities rather than assuming that all search services include relocation support.
Questions for your shortlist
- Who will personally lead the assignment and conduct candidate interviews?
- Which companies and candidate groups will be researched?
- Are there off-limits restrictions that reduce access to candidates?
- How will leadership experience, motivation and references be assessed?
- What does the fee include, and what are the terms for follow-up or a replacement search?
Compare proposals for the same brief. There is no single price or timetable that fits every executive search assignment. Obtain written terms and ask for references relevant to the role and organisation.
About this guide and its sources
Headhunteren.dk is an independent guide, not a recruitment agency. Official firm websites are linked above. We have not audited performance claims or tested the services. The Danish directory includes 46 firms and brand groups across executive search, recruitment and staffing; that figure is the directory's coverage, not a count of the entire Danish market.
